We highly recommend Mr. Willmott. We used Mr. Willmott for a modification of custody case. Our situation was complicated and had huge challenges to overcome. Mr. Willmott has extensive knowledge and wisdom on the laws involving custody/divorce. If he doesn’t already know how the law will apply to a specific problem, he will research it. He does not want to keep you on the phone or long emails and rack up your bill. He is very expensive but worth it! (Hence why we are saying thank you on this review and not in an email 😅) If you come from a southern/country background like us, Mr. Willmott’s personality might seem blunt or like he doesn’t care, but that’s just probably how he was raised up north. He is very matter-of-fact and knows the process inside and out being a board-certified lawyer (this is an extra level of expertise than a regular attorney) and he is a mediator. He stays calm even if you are emotional or stressed. Our only small regret was agreeing to a social investigator. Our case was able to settle after 2 mediations and a social investigation. The social investigation took a year or the case would have probably settled or went to court sooner. Mr. Willmott always forwarded emails involving our case right away and responded quickly to our emails. Sometimes he may seem like he’s not giving you any hope because he does not give false promises but realistic expectations and possible outcomes. Mr. Willmott is a “Master” member of Florida Family Law American Inn of Court which is an organization of lawyers that meet monthly. To be a member of this club, you must be nominated and practice with the highest integrity. From our first interaction with Mr. Willmott in April 2021, we never felt like he didn’t advise what was best for our case.
